By taking the stencil and merging it into the holga a sense of street art has been represented. it is as if the original image has been taken over by another type of language. a language that mayresemble a political statement that street art is not just tagging but an art in itself. particularly in the 5th image we can see how the sprayed stencil looks as if it is taking over the original image. a statement another type of media.

the stencil vs the holga

The stencil is a cutout of the image from the holga. i will then use the stencil to merge the original image together.

OHP trials

by layering the OHP stencils the effect is quite similar to that of the negative...by reproducing the image from the already layered holga image we can start to see some interesting images

the stenciled image

the first two images are scanned images of the stencil and the stenciled image. by moving the position of the stencil a 3d effect can occur and a shadow. this was an experiment to look at how the image can look like a 3d cutout but in fact is just a 2d image scanned

the stencil- layering

by taking a cutout of the original image turned from the negative, i want to merge or overlap the stencil. taking the image out and putting it back in using the spray paint as a different kind of media. the photos show a resemblance of layering so the idea to mount the stencil onto the image was the aesthetic that i was going for.

Influence: by cutting up the holgas and turning them into stencils can be a good idea of how to use different media and mix up how an image can be represented. in this case the idea of layering was specifically chosen because of the layering in some of the holga prints. by taking the stencil i am creating a different type of image and representing it on top of the existing image will create another type of layering system. the stenciled image also gives an effect of a 2d image becoming 3d so i will try to mix the technique of stenciling.
